GLASS ART
I love nests!
There’s something about nests that really intrigues me…the innate ability of birds to build them…the painstakingly long process of creating this unique home. My nest and “branch” are made of amber glass.
Clear nest
Here’s another nest created with clear glass and embellished with found feathers.
Iridescent Sea
This plate is a layer of light aqua and iridescent clear glass. Then it was slumped in a mold with raised sea stars and other sea life. This plate took 2nd place in the 2022 Trail’s End Art Association Judged Show in Gearhart, Oregon.

I love the way the dichro tiles sparkle around the bowl. I made them in a variety of colors.
Another of my dichro tile bowls but made with iridized blue glass. I love the sheen on it.
This orange streaky glass reminds me of an August moon on an autumn night.

I've enjoyed using silver foil (although its tricky to work with!) to add sparkle. I love the way the foil reacts to the red opaque glass, leaving a black ring around each foil shape.
My series of sea star plates and bowls feature a bas relief of the star, created by cutting the shape out of fiber paper and firing the glass over the paper.
Here's another small plate using powdered glass sifted over leaves I found on my walks.
It's hard to see in this photo, but there are pieces of very thin white glass fused into the clear glass strips of this plate. The gold in the middle is iridized glass.
Using cut pieces of glass rod creates these lovely dots. I did a whole series of these in a variety of colors.
I'm crazy about stars and tend to use them a lot in my work. These lovely foil stars perk up my series of small plates.
These purple, black and gray plates feature coordinated colors of stripes pre-made in what we call a "part sheet." It's designed, assembled and fired first and then cut up to use in other projects.
This is part of the holiday collection of plates I created in 2020.
Another part of the 2020 holiday collection...reminds me of Santa Claus' suit!
This group is part of the holiday collection I created in 2019. The green glass that you see flaked across the glass is called Aventurine Green and it sparkles in the light.
I really love that smoky black glass paired with the blue streaked glass. It remains one of my favorite combinations.
These caramel and burnt orange plates and small bowls reminded me of the colors we saw when visiting Italy.
Another sea star in foil on transparent light aquamarine blue glass.
This bowl makes me think of finding a sea star under the foamy waves of the ocean.
Another rendition of iridized silver with special production Bullseye black and white glass.
I love the way these little side tables came out. Kudos to my metal working friend Sven Fedje for the brains behind the fabrication!
And another glass topped table - metal design and fabrication by Sven Fedje. Don't you love the bicycle part in the middle?
Another collection of my 2019 holiday glass, this time in green.
Green and gold just seem to go together, don't they? The special production Bullseye glass with green color splash is complemented by gold iridized glass and transparent green.
I feel like King Midas when I use this Bullseye Silver to Gold glass, which turns silver foil into gold.
I've always been fascinated by a bird's ability and knowledge of how to build a sturdy, complex, warm home in which to hatch their offspring. For my nests, I heated "stringer" glass with a blow torch so I could bend it to create the image of sticks and organic material. I also added special paint and crumbled glass (called frit).
Another version of my nests. You can visualize it sitting in the crook of a tree limb.
This version of my nests has a brown base with mostly black "sticks" and cream speckled eggs.
Here's another one of my dichro tile plates, this one in blue.

I love the juxtaposition of the brown and orange striated glass with the shine of the gold iridized glass.

This purple stringed glass gets an extra pop with rainbow iridized glass underneath.

This special production glass from Bullseye makes a visually stunning serving bowl.
ABOUT
I’ve been making original handmade glass since the early 1990s. I do a lot of functional glass but also love working on showcase pieces and jewelry collections.
Most of my experience comes from classes at Bullseye Glass and lots of practice and experimentation on my own.
I’ve been featured in a number of shows, galleries and gift shops throughout the Portland area and along the north coast. Find my glass at Fairweather House and Gallery in Seaside and Trail's End Art Association in Gearhart.
I split my time between the beach (Seaside, Oregon) and the desert (La Quinta, California), after spending most of my life in the Portland area. When not in the studio, I love listening to music, reading books, spending time with family and friends, bicycling, swimming and exploring the many cultural activities the northwest has to offer!
Work With Me
All of my glass is available for purchase. If a piece is sold out, I can create another one very similar or work with you to design exactly what you want.
Do you have a special event coming up? Or maybe you’re looking for one-of-a-kind holiday or birthday gifts. I can work with you to create unique gifts or an heirloom that will last a lifetime.

I did a bunch of dots and stripes in a variety of colors. They have a whimsical quality to them.
I've enjoyed using silver foil (although its tricky to work with!) to add sparkle. I love the way the foil reacts to the red opaque glass, leaving a black ring around each foil shape.
I did a whole collection of holiday plates using star shapes cut from foil. Very festive!
When Halloween arrives, it's fun to use these plates for guests and goblins!
I love the colors of the holiday season. This makes me think of Santa's suit!

A splash of color to brighten your table.
This was a wedding present I created for a friend to complement her Fiesta Ware dining set.
I showed this to a friend and he said it reminded him of the creamsicle ice cream treats he ate as a child. I can see that!
This is another version of silver iridized glass paired with special production Bullseye glass in black and white.

Blue Wave is what I call this plate using special production Bullseye glass.

Another bowl with special production Bullseye glass. Each sheet of glass is unique and gives the artist a one-of-a-kind piece.
